Woman loses late husband’s pension fund to Macau scam

Pahang police say a teacher lost her late husband’s pension fund of RM233,480, after being cheated by a Macau scam syndicate two weeks ago. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 26, 2023.

Pahang police chief Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the 55-year-old victim from Maran, said she was initially contacted on January 13, by a suspect who claimed to be an employee of a delivery service. “She was then contacted by a second suspect who impersonated a police officer and asked for her banking information to investigate the case,” he said in a statement in Kuantan today.
