Witness in Guan Eng’s trial says company had direct involvement over project draft

Consortium Zenith BUCG Sdn Bhd was instructed to amend documents related to the Penang undersea tunnel project, a witness in former chief minister Lim Guan Eng’s trial says. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Seth Akmal, November 11, 2021.

THE Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court was told today that Consortium Zenith BUCG Sdn Bhd had direct knowledge in the preparation of a request for proposal draft for an undersea tunnel and paired roads project in Penang. Former Penang state secretary Farizan Darus, 62, said as the company had the expertise in the preparation of such drafts, it was instructed to take several measures, including amending the RFP document and returning it within a week to the State Economic Planning Unit .
