Wisma Putra says Malaysian scout contingent in Seoul safe amid heat wave

The Malaysian Embassy in Seoul says it will maintain close contact with the Malaysian scout contingent in South Korea, which is attending the World Scout Jamboree until August 12. – EPA pic, August 7, 2023.

THE 499 members of the Malaysian contingent to the World Scout Jamboree, being held until August 12 in Seoul, South Korea, are reportedly safe amid an extreme heat wave there.“Initial reports said four people from the Malaysian contingent have experienced health problems such as headache, fever and rashes. All of them have reportedly received appropriate treatment,” the statement said.

The Malaysian Embassy in Seoul said it will maintain close contact with the Malaysian contingent and organisers of the event.[email protected]International reports yesterday said hundreds had fallen ill at the World Scout Jamboree, which is attended by more than 40,000 youth from around the world, with temperatures up to 35ºC.

The 4,500-strong British contingent, the largest in attendance, is moving from a campsite at Saemangeum to Seoul, the Scout Association said.Related News
