'Without a doubt, Malaysian football fans are deservedly elated by team Harimau Malaya’s emphatic victory over arch rival Singapore in the final Group B match of the AFF Mitsubishi Cup.' - Hussain Abu Bakar

I REFER to the StarSport report “Tigers maul Lions” .

The national team’s impressive 4-1 win at the Bukit Jalil stadium meant that Malaysia have once again qualified for the semi-finals after disappointingly bowing out of the group stage at the last edition of the tournament in 2021. Furthermore, Singapore have an impressive track record at the AFF, having been crowned champions on four previous occasions and were semi-finalists in the last tournament.

It was also a positive reflection of the team’s resolve and determination to bounce back after the disappointing 0-3 loss in the earlier and controversial group match against Vietnam.
