An emergency Parliamentary sitting needs to be convened to put to rest the controversy surrounding the new ruling coalition. FMTNews BackdoorGovernment

At a protest gathering against the formation of a backdoor government last month, a member of the crowd attempted to disrupt one of the speakers.

What he had to say still deserves our attention, not least because politicians have also started declaring that to oppose Muhyiddin’s appointment is to challenge our monarch.Notable among these political leaders is PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang. Last week, Hadi accused Pakatan Harapan, in calling for a test of Muhyiddin’s support in Parliament, of an attempt to “start a vote of no-confidence” against the ruler.

Our Agong – and I say, our because he is constitutionally bound to uphold the interests of all Malaysians – made an assessment of the person who he thought was reasonably likely to command the majority of support in Parliament. In January 1976, Hussein Onn was appointed the third Malaysian prime minister, following the passing of Abduk Razak Hussein. Hussein Onn did not use this royal appointment as a carte blanche. Lawyer GK Ganesan writes that 11 days after Hussein Onn’s appointment, the premier convened an emergency meeting of Parliament to ask for a vote of confidence. Only after he obtained it, did Hussein Onn begin his constitutional duties as prime minister.

To avoid calling that meeting would only reinforce the fact that this new coalition of PPBM-BN-PAS is not the choice of the people.Second, with the collapse of the government Malaysians voted for, it still remains unclear if Muhyiddin actually had majority support when he was appointed. Dr Mahathir Mohamad was able to demonstrate that PH had the support of 114 MPs on the morning of Muhyiddin’s appointment.

Buat segera pilihan raya baru biar UMNO menguasi banyak kerusi

Its democratic and is provided for in the constitution. It is a fail safe mechanism to put to rest the legitimacy of any government formed.

Chance of an emergency sitting is next to none. With no possibility of having a cabinet with moral value befitting a government. Brutes was given a rope. Instead of using it to climb and build. He used it to hang himself. Brutes has no direction at all

No balls to do it now because still fishing for potential defectors to make up the necessary quota. Backdoor government will always do what backdoor government does best.

Yes do it on 17may. Don't waste other people's time. TSMY has a lot of works to do. Bukan macam setengah orang asyik berpolitik tanpa kira masa. Rosak negara

Eh Ariff? U know... Dr M was right to call for this. Who was wrong? Those who quickly opposed it cos they did not trust Tun M's wise ways.

Istana Negara explains why Guardian's editorial is wrongArticle presents a distorted account of the process by which the Yang di-Pertuan Agong appointed a new prime minister, says Comptroller of the Royal Household. FMTNews IstanaNegara Failure by the palace to disclose the number of MPs in favour of Muhyiddin Yassin as PM is the biggest mistake. In the interests of transparency, full disclosure of what each MP (and TSMY) told His Majesty would put all these misinterpretations to rest. The questions will remain otherwise. But I doubt that will happen 😉 The way to end gossip is to be transparent...period!
