Dr Mahathir Mohamad says while there are disagreements among ministers at times, there are no misunderstandings or restrictions in carrying out their duties.

“In other countries, when there is a change of government, there will be riots, street demonstrations and strikes. Some witnessed civil war,” he told reporters here. “The Cabinet functions as well as we can expect. Yes, we argue, but we can sit down and come to a consensus,” he said and joked that no one dared go up against him.

Mahathir said that the current government has administered the country “till the point people respect us”.
