Did you know, you could always pump petrol with your smartphone? Not literally, of course, but you can authenticate and make payments through an app called Setel.

It’s basically an eWallet from Petronas which was initially designed to allow you to pay for your petrol on your smartphone. Now, the app has grown in function, and you can even use it to pay for stuff at Kedai Mesra, parking, and also a couple of supported outlets. The unique thing about Setel is that it doesn’t use a QR code or RFID for petrol payments, instead it relies on your GPS.

Setel has recently pushed an update that allows you to authenticate and pay for your petrol using only an Apple Watch. But how convenient is it to use this feature? Is it better than using your smartphone? We find out on today’s episode of Trends.
