We are not bound by law to declare our assets, says Opposition leader

"We will not declare our assets because there are no written laws under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 that can compel us to do so.

"That is why they have many select committees. But what's happening now is that the Parliament has to follow the instructions of the executive to make a motion to compel MPs, including those from the Opposition, to declare their assets," added the Bera MP. "But for those who are not in power such as the Opposition, who do not have any power to approve anything, there is no need for us to declare our assets,” he said.

whether bound or not, isn't one who is holding public office it is good to be seen clean & above the law in serving the people?
