Menteri Pengangkutan Anthony Loke berkata, kerajaan komited meneruskan projek usahasama antara Prasarana Malaysia Berhad dan Scomi Transit Projects Sdn Bhd yang tergendala sebelum ini demi menyediakan perkhidmatan lebih baik kepada warga kota yang memilih menggunakan pengangkutan awam itu.
“Untuk menyelesaikan isu ini pihak STP perlu membaiki lima set tren berkenaan dan jika mereka berjaya selesaikan isu ini dalam tiga hingga enam bulan, kita akan teruskan projek pembelian tujuh set tren baru dengan mereka,” katanya. “Walaupun kita mahu perkhidmatan ini dikembalikan secepat mungkin, apa yang penting aspek keselamatan menjadi keutamaan yang mana ia akan melalui beberapa proses pengujian untuk memastikannya selamat digunakan orang ramai.
Sementara itu, Pengarah STP Rohaida Ali Badaruddin berkata, pihaknya yakin dapat menyiapkan projek itu mengikut perjanjian.
