Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah berkata virus Covid-19 sentiasa bermutasi dan virus D614G merupakan mutasi terkini yang membolehkannya mempunyai kadar kebolehjangkitan tinggi.
Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah berkata, pihaknya mengesan 23 kluster baharu yang mempunyai virus seperti itu dan sudah menjangkiti 604 individu yang pulang dari Sabah serta dikesan positif. “Ia melibatkan 604 individu yang pulang dari Sabah juga didapati positif Covid-19, kemungkinan besar juga adalah membawa jangkitan mutasi ini, iaitu D614G,” katanya pada sidang media hari ini.
“Namun perkataan ‘super spreader’ bukan ditujukan kepada virus tetapi kepada individu dijangkiti. Virus ini boleh menjangkiti individu sekiranya tidak mengamalkan penjarakan fizikal atau dalam keadaan kurang 1m atau tidak menjaga etika bersin sehingga boleh menjangkiti orang awam,” katanya.
