PETALING JAYA: Veteran Hong Kong singers Frances Yip and Maria Cordero have urged their many fans in Malaysia to get the Covid-19 vaccine to protect themselves and their families against the disease which has so far claimed 3.3 million lives worldwide.

They said there was nothing to fear about the vaccine and people should not be swayed by scary but unfounded theories about the vaccine.

Yip spent quarantine with her family in Sydney, Australia. She received her AstraZeneca shot on May 10. “She has also become very good at cooking curries. We even baked Anzac biscuits together on Anzac Day, ” she said. As for Cordero, whose voice breathed life to the hit song, Mama I Love You, she was also quick to wave away fears about the vaccine, saying there was nothing to be afraid of.

Cordero, who received both doses of her Sinovac vaccine, said opted to be vaccinated because she is part of a large family.
