Vehicle sales fell 41.1% in first half of 2020

Vehicle sales and production in Malaysia has decreased in the first half of the year, as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak and the movement restrictions. – EPA file pic, July 24, 2020.

VEHICLE sales in Malaysia fell 41.1% to 174,675 units in the first half of the year compared to 296,317 in the same period last year, said Malaysian Automotive Association president Aishah Ahmad today. She attributed this downtrend to the Covid-19 outbreak and the movement control order imposed to curb the spread of the virus.
