WASHINGTON, May 31 — US Attorney General Bill Barr said yesterday that far-left extremists and anarchists were behind the violent protests against policy brutality in more than a dozen cities, and warned federal law enforcement could take action against them. “Unfortunately, with the rioting that is occurring in many of our cities, around the country, the voices of peaceful protest have been hijacked by violent radical elements,” he said in a brief televised statement.

The protests in many places turned violent and have included several nights of fires and looting, with the Minnesota city the hardest hit.“Don’t lay the blame on others!” he said.
