Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s private secretary Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani said in a statement on Thursday , that a congregation of 40 people, in addition to mosque officials and committee members, can now attend Friday and congregational prayers in selected mosques.
He added after taking into consideration all the relevant information and advice, Sultan Sharfuddin has consented for mosques and surau in Selangor to be opened-up in stages.“The congregation for the Friday prayers is to be increased from 12 to 40 people, in addition to the mosque officials and committee members in the 39 mosques that were stipulated before.He added congregational prayers were allowed for the subuh, maghrib and isyak prayers.
Munir said mosques must fully adhere to the guidelines and procedures that have been set by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry.
