SYDNEY, Oct 27 — Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday said unvaccinated tennis players would be allowed to enter the country to play at the Australian Open in February if they underwent a mandatory two-week Covid-19 quarantine.

The state of Victoria, where the Melbourne Park venue of the tournament is situated, will almost certainly enforce the quarantine regulations to the strictest extent. The policy shift is likely to prove controversial in Victoria, which has grimly endured six lockdowns since the start of the global health crisis.
