Beliau berkata, UMS kini juga mempelopori usaha untuk melahirkan masyarakat yang berinovasi dengan slogan Leading towards Innovative Societies. “Makmal-makmal ini akan digunakan para pelajar dan pensyarah. Sebagai contoh, para pelajar bukan hanya mendalami ilmu kepakaran mereka dalam hal penanaman pokok, pertanian dan sebagainya tetapi pihak industri juga dapat menawarkan fasiliti kepada pelajar,” ujar Dr Kasim.
