KUALA LUMPUR: Umno and PAS have agreed to back Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister for the much anticipated 15th general election. Umno Supreme Council member Annuar Musa today said the matter was discussed by the two parties during a recent meeting by Muafakat Nasional, the charter which brought the two Malay-based parties together last year.
He also confirmed a statement by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang that the Islamist party would back Muhyiddin to continue leading the country if Perikatan Nasional returned to power.MORE TO COME
