PETALING JAYA: The two policemen killed in the attack on the Ulu Tiram police station early on Friday morning had served with the force for less than two years.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the police said Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar and Constable Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said were both part of the station's crime prevention patrol unit.In the post, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, his deputy Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, and the entire police force conveyed their condolences to the constables' families and loved ones.
According to Razarudin, the incident began when two students, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, came to the police station at 2.30 am on Friday about a sexual assault case.He said when one of the policemen went behind to inquire about the man, he was slashed in the neck.At the same time, another two MPV policemen, who had just finished their patrol, returned to the police station when the shootout happened.
