KUALA LUMPUR: The suspect who was shot dead after attacking the Ulu Tiram police station is not a member of Jemaah Islamiah , says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
The Inspector-General of Police said his initial statement that the suspect was linked to JI was based on information that the suspect's father was involved with the terror group."However, upon further investigation, we discovered that the suspect had no connections with any terror group, including JI," he said when contacted on Saturday .
"Based on interrogations of over 40 individuals and checks on the suspect's house, the man was acting as a lone wolf."As such, we have called a total of 46 individuals for interrogations to assist in the investigation."It is a lone wolf attack, but he was driven by a certain motivation that only he understood as he did not mix around with people," he had said in a press conference at the Johor police headquarters.
