World Green & Sustainability Summit 2023 recognises the company’s commitment to ESG

UEM Edgenta BerhadIt won the “Outstanding World ESG Impact Award”, while managing director and chief executive officer Syahrunizam Samsudin received the"World Sustainability Icon Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award” for his leadership and forward-thinking approach in harmonising technology and sustainability.

Syahrunizam said,"Receiving the ‘Outstanding World ESG Impact Award’ is a solid recognition of our relentless dedication to environmental sustainability and our tireless efforts to drive positive impact in the communities we serve. “We are confident that our commitment to pioneering intelligent and sustainable solutions, encompassing green building certifications, innovative energy performance contracts with zero upfront costs, and advanced ESG data analytics, perfectly aligns with the National Energy Transition Roadmap's overarching vision," he emphasised.

WGSS was organised by the World Green Organisation , the United Nations Global Compact , as well as the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific and co-hosted by the Sarawak government. As the world looks forward to the COP28 in UAE this coming November, WGSS 2023 serves as a crucial gathering of regional and international leaders, setting the stage for meaningful dialogues and collaborations to address the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
