In the 1pm incident, the burnt remains of Jayraiyen Jabri, 5, and his elder brother Jackron were found by firefighters who put out the flames that destroyed five other houses.She said 35 firemen from the Lintas and Kota Kinabalu stations as well as their Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit were immediately deployed to the scene, located some 18km from the state capital.
She said the fire was at its height when the team reached the location, adding they went straight to work to douse the inferno. "Our men found the bodies of the two children in the rubble after they put out the fire,” she said, when contacted.She noted that the boys’ remains have been handed over to the police for the next course of action.
Agustavia said the fire was brought under control at 2.53pm but firefighters continued to hose down the remaining embers.“We will ascertain what triggered the fire as soon as we can,” she said.
