Two third of cases cured, less than 2,000 still in treatment

| Malaysia is inching its way nearer to the two-thirds mark in terms of the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered.

According to the Health Ministry, 103 patients were discharged over the 24-hour period ending noon today, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 3,452 . The total number of active cases continues its downward trajectory with 1,987, down from a peak of 2,595 on April 5. As of noon today, there were 50 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 positive patients to 5,532.There was one new death recorded, involving Patient 5,483.

The victim is a Malaysian female, 72, who had a history of illnesses. She was warded at the Sarawak general hospital on April 20 and passed away at 9.15am this morning.
