KLANG: Two million doses of Covid-19 vaccines are expected to arrive at the end of this month, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Prime Minister said these doses would be distributed to the Klang Valley and Negri Sembilan for use starting early August.

He said the move would help to expedite the vaccination process and curb the spread of Covid-19 in high-risk areas. “For the same purpose, all existing Covid-19 Assessment Centres will operate daily with the hiring of additional staff as carried out by the Health Ministry. “Taking into account the presence of patients with breathing difficulties, the CACs will also be equipped with oxygen supply while they wait to be referred to either the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre or hospital,’’ he reporters after visiting Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah yesterday.

Muhyiddin said based on the data on July 11, the cumulative total of cases in Selangor was 286,352 while in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, 88,958 cases.Article type: metered
