State Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a 39-year old lorry driver and his 19 year-old co-driver were killed on the spot during the incident that occured at about 5am.
"We received a distress call from the public at 5.17am about the incident and a team of firemen from the Jalan Perak fire station were rushed to the scene," he said in a statement. The spokesperson said the victims were trapped in their vehicle after crashing into the trailer from behind."The first victim was extricated at about 5.55am while another victim was extricated seven minutes later,"he said.He said both victims suffered serious injuries due to the collision and were declared dead by the medical personnel at the scene, adding that the bodies of the victims were handed over to the police for further action.
