GEORGE TOWN: Penang police busted two drug trafficking syndicates with the arrest of two suspects during a series of raids.

Various drugs and equipment worth over RM200,000 were seized in two operations from May 12 to May 14.

ACP Soffian said following the arrest, an interrogation of the suspect led police to conduct a second raid at a house in Lebuh Sungai Pinang. ACP Soffian said the police believed has been active since 2021 and the drugs seized were meant for overseas distribution. In another operation, police from George Town police headquarters NCID crippled a drug mini lab after confiscating various types of drugs and its processing equipment worth RM180,860.

Also confiscated were a transparent plastic packet containing syabu weighing about 0.018kg, valued at RM1,800; 23 transparent packets which each containing ketamine weighing about 0.046kg and valued at RM6,900; and a transparent plastic packet containing 24 pills believed to be ecstasy weighing about 0.01149kg, worth around RM360.
