The victims, identified as Sharif Mohd Sharizan Sabri, 11, and Mohd Ahlan Kiram, 14, were reported missing at about 6.15pm on Sunday at the river located about 500m from their house in Flat Masai Utama.
According to Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Yusri Atan, a total of 36 officers and personnel were deployed to the location to conduct a rescue operation. “The rescue team comprised people from the Pasir Gudang fire station, the Skudai Water Rescue Unit and Pasir Gudang police station.
“The body of the first victim, Sharif, was found at 9.18pm while the search for the second victim is still ongoing,” he said when contacted here.The body of the victim has been handed over to the police and will be taken to Hospital Sultan Ismail .
