KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has appointed Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi Mohammad Azmi as the new executive chairman for a period of three years effective from June 16, 2024 to June 15, 2027.

KUALA PILAH: Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly exploiting a 14-year-old physically challenged boy to work as a scrap collector."We received a tip-off from the public that a child was being exploited at around 5.30pm on June 12, and a team was immediately sent to a house in a residential area to investigate.

"A suspect who was allegedly supervising the victim at the house was detained, and the boy was sent to hospital for a medical check-up," he said in a statement. Amran said police detained a second suspect, who was believed to be the victim's employer, in a follow-up operation.The case is being probed under Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007, which provides imprisonment between three and 20 years and a fine upon conviction.
