Lobster is a high-value species and popular livestock farmed in Negeri Sembilan, especially in Kuala Pilah and Jelebu.
“The intention to make this state a lobster farming valley has been in planning for three years because of the high potential. So our efforts have been continuous and enhanced towards achieving that. Halimi said lobster production in Negeri Sembilan rose to 64.66 tonnes last year from 64.05 tonnes in 2018 and 43.01 tonnes in 2017.He said so far there are nearly 50 lobster farmers in the state and he expects an increase in the number of breeders and yields next year when the country’s economy recovers from the effects of Covid-19.
