Trial needed for punter’s suit over lost winning ticket, court rules FMTNews

Pan Malaysian Pools is being sued for not paying out RM185,671 in prize money to a man who says he is entitled to it despite having lost his winning ticket.

Judicial commissioner Rozi Bainon said the claim and the relief sought by the punter against the gaming company was not “obviously unsustainable”.“It is not scandalous, frivolous, vexatious or an abuse of the court’s process,” Rozi said in a ruling delivered online today.Rozi also fixed the suit for case management on April 10 to enable parties to take directions before the trial.

Mahendravarman said he lodged a police report on May 16 after he could not find the ticket despite searching his house.
