Matthias Tischler and his partner, who only wants to be known as Sonja, set off from Germany in a caravan two years ago and arrived in Kuching in March last year."We parked the car here and flew to Australia. About three weeks ago, we were back in Kuching to pick up our car. Four days later, the movement control came and so we are a bit stuck here.
"We found a nice place here, surrounded by nice people, so we are waiting until the virus situation gets better," Sonja said.Sonja said they would go to the market or supermarket every few days to buy food, which they cook in their caravan. "We have no problems with getting food. Sometimes, we go to a restaurant for takeaway, but usually we stay at home and cook by ourselves," she said, adding that there were also friendly people who helped with necessities like water.
She said she hoped the virus situation would come under control in the coming weeks, so that things could get back to normal. But it's difficult to make plans now, nobody knows what will happen," she said.
