A night market trader waits to load his goods after Kota Kinabalu City Hall closed all night and weekly markets on Saturday because of the high number of Covid-19 infections.

She said the sudden closure caused many traders to suffer losses, especially those who sold raw products such as fish, chicken and vegetables. The president of the Pantai Tanjung Aru 1 Night Market Hawkers Association, Dahlan Jasri, said he agreed with the closure decision in view of the increased number of Covid-19 infections, but hoped they would be allowed to operate again soon.
