IPOH: A trader in his 50s has been found dead in front of a convenience store in Pokok Assam, Taiping after he was involved in a fight.

Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Razlam Ab Hamid said the police received a call about the matter at 4.15pm on Tuesday ."We also seized a motorcycle helmet and three wooden sticks.ACP Razlam said police have obtained a remand order for the suspect from Sept 13 to 19 to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He said the post-mortem examination conducted at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics unit here found the cause of death to be"coronary atherosclerosis with associated soft tissue injuries"."The police urge those with information about any crimes to come forward to the police to help us combat crime," he added.
