BUTTERWORTH: After two days, tow truck services in Penang will resume on Wednesday (Dec 4) as the association representing them has decided to call off the strike.

Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners Association of Malaysia vice-president Khor Kong Siah said that the decision was made after a fruitful meeting with Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs Ministry officers at their Jalan Raja Uda offices.

"We received an official letter to meet Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysian Competition Commission and other relevant government agencies to discuss our concerns on Friday ," he told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday. Khor, who is also Penang Motor Vehicles Workshop Owners Association president, said they are grateful that their wait for more than three years for this opportunity has finally arrived.

He also thanked Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his political secretary Teh Lai Heng for their effort in realising the meet. "I hope the discussion this Friday can come to one common result for all, and if not more discussions should be held until an amicable solution is reached," he said. We're sorry, this article is unavailable at the moment.
