Tour association hoping for substantial stimulus package

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents hopes that Putrajaya will release a stimulus package that exceeds the RM8.1 billion in 2003 to mitigate the impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak and RM60 billion in 2009 during the global economic downturn. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, February 6, 2020.

THE Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents hoped the government will introduce a bigger economic stimulus package to assist sectors affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak. In 2003, the government rolled out a RM8.1 billion economic package to help Malaysians mitigate the impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak and in 2009 announced a RM60 billion stimulus package in face of the global economic downturn.
