Toddler allegedly killed by mother in Pasir Gudang

JOHOR BAHRU: A mother has been remanded for seven days to assist the investigation into the alleged murder of her 18-month-old son.

Johor police chief CP M. Kumar said the incident occurred at 1.30 pm, and preliminary investigations found that the 32-year-old woman also sent a photo of the child covered in blood to her husband via WhatsApp. He said the victim’s body was taken to Sultan Ismail Hospital for an autopsy and the motive behind the incident is still under investigation.In a separate case, Kumar said five local men aged between 35 and 48 have been detained to assist in the investigation following the discovery of the body of a 61-year-old man.He said the victim, with slash wounds across various parts of his body, was discovered at 10.50 am in Taman Rinting, Masai yesterday.
