Tiga lagi kes Difteria di Johor

Dalam kenyataannya hari ini, Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah berkata, ia membabitkan seorang kanak-kanak lelaki dan perempuan berusia empat tahun serta seorang remaja perempuan berusia 15 tahun.

Media sebelum ini melaporkan seorang kanak-kanak lelaki berusia dua tahun sebulan meninggal dunia akibat komplikasi jangkitan difteria. “Susulan kejadian wabak difteria di Johor ini, KKM ingin menegaskan kepentingan pemberian imunisasi bagi mencegah penyakit berjangkit yang boleh dicegah oleh vaksin seperti difteria, demam campak, batuk kokol dan lain-lain,” katanya.

“Sekiranya seseorang yang menerima vaksin dijangkiti kuman penyebab penyakit berkenaan, gejala yang dialami adalah ringan.
