Unless you have the money, influence & resources, it is tough to win as an independent. The party is always more powerful. Just see Dr. Michael Jeyakumar who won the Sg Siput seat as PKR candidate in 2008 & 2013 but in 2018, he ran as PSM candidate & lost to the PKR candidate.
