KUALA LUMPUR: Although operating on a mega scale with daily capacity reaching up to 8,000 vaccine recipients, operations at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) were smooth sailing, with happy faces of vaccine recipients all around.

Account executive Angie Ng, 56, who was chaperoning her father Ng Lian Kee, 77, for his appointment yesterday, left with a glowing review of the facility and volunteers.

Ng, who only registered her father on May 28, was promptly given an appointment, but she had to reject it as it was at night. Khairani said the flow at Mitec was excellent, and the volunteers were competent and very helpful in showing them where to go and what to do. Mariamah, who was a little nervous before receiving the jab, and was registered two weeks ago, said Kavitha, who added her mother initially refused to be vaccinated.“She reads the newspapers every day and was worried that the jab would be harmful to her, and gave many reasons for refusing it.
