KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s three parties with one MP each is hoping for at least the status quo to be maintained in the new Cabinet line-up.

Parti Bersatu Sabah , Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah and Sabah STAR have not made public their views on the matter though they indicated their preferences.

In the previous Cabinet, PBS president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili held the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department post. PBRS deputy president Datuk Arthur Kurup held the deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department post while Sabah STAR’s secretary-general Senator Datuk Guandee Kohoi was deputy minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Sources said PBS, which is neither with Perikatan Nasional nor Barisan Nasional, was hoping to retain a minister’s post.Sabah STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who is Deputy Chief Minister, indicated that his party hoped to retain the deputy minister post but was seeking another portfolio for Guandee.

Datuk Ronald Kiandee from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia , was a minister. There were also two deputy ministers from Sabah Bersatu – Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri and Jonathan Yassin.
