In the first case, a man is believed to be missing after he failed to return home from a fishing trip at a river mouth in Sabah's southwestern Sipitang district on Sunday evening.
Firemen received the distress call from family members of Nordin Yusof at 10.47am Monday after failing to return home from a fishing trip around the river mouth of Kampung Merintaman in Sipitang. Sipitang Fire and Rescue Services station chief Calvin Joe Jeafery said search operations have been launched for the victim who is believed to have been fishing during bad weather.On the east coast of the Sandakan district, firemen and other agencies are conducting a search for two men reported missing along the Seguntur river.
The department's spokesman said the two men, who have yet to be identified, were reported missing 11am today after they went out fishing a day earlier.Sabah's weather conditions remain bad over the last four days and a high tide phenomenon has also been wreaking havoc on coastal villages in Pitas, Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu.Article type: free
