Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain said the suspects detained were aged between 21 and 55.
"We seized 285.47kg of syabu worth RM10.27mil during the raids," he told a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on Wednesday . One of the syndicates used courier services to smuggle the drugs to Sabah and Sarawak as well as overseas including to Indonesia, Australia and the Philippines, Comm Razarudin said.
"We believe this particular syndicate has been active for about a year. They had used courier services at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Jalan Kuching," he added. He then said that assets worth RM194,000 were also seized, including three cars, seven pieces of jewellery and a luxury watch."Four of those detained tested positive for syabu," he said."We will investigate further to uncover the extent of the syndicates. We need the cooperation of the public in the war against the drug menace," he said.
