The temple's management, Selangor and Federal Territory Hainan Association, gave away the masks free of charge to members of the public and tourists on top of installing hand sanitiser dispensers in 12 spots in the famous cultural landmark.
He added that this was especially important as Thean Hou Temple was a famous tourist destination and a cultural hub and landmark for the Chinese community. "So far, the attendance is still about the same. There have been no signs of panic from members of the public," he said, adding that he believed the public would respond positively to the association's campaign to provide free masks.
