According to the Prime Minister, the poor also need to work hard towards improving their livelihood and at the same time, be receptive of government's strategies.

"The government will identify what are the things they can do, such as business opportunities or entrepreneurship. Dr Mahathir also cautioned the danger of wealth inequality, especially between the races as it could trigger chaos and dissatisfaction among the people.

You ask middle and upper-middle income earners. The biggest spender among income classes, where do they do their shopping? Definitely not at pasar malam or roadside stalls. So, how will money get passed down to lower income group? The poor are always at a disadvantage.

The poor will not remain poor but more will become poor if the government does NOT address the income/expenditure index of society. People are finding it more and more difficult to survive...so what is the PM talking about?
