han the full 15W. This is after the rolling out of iOS 17.4, which had already removed the restrictions on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series in December last year.
As reported by GSMArena, testing conducted by Macworld confirmed the restriction has been lifted from the iPhone 12 series. For context, the Qi2 wireless charging is similar to Apple’s proprietary MagSafe charging which uses magnets to align the charger with the charging coils inside the iPhone. In fact, the Qi2 standard was released recently, with Apple as a"steering member" of the Wireless Power Consortium , which publishes the Qi standards. However, the same 15W limitation persists with Qi2 wireless charging standard as with MagSafe, hence not many new Android smartphones are adopting it as of now.
