Samsung was expected to offer this new tech to the world of smartphones with this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the company decided to push back the production of the new stacked batteries. Then the Galaxy S25 Ultra was expected to offer the new battery tech, along with a faster 65W charging.However, tipster Sawyer Galox claimed that the company will launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the same 45W charging and 5000 a mAh battery based on the traditional Li-Ion technology.

While the battery life of the last few generations of Samsung’s Ultra flagships has been reasonably good, the charging speed definitely lags behind the competition when compared to Chinese smartphone makers. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip could be a reason behind Samsung’s delaying improvements in other aspects. Qualcomm has confirmed that the next generation flagship chip will be more expensive than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the Galaxy S24 Ultra already costs $1300. It could be a reason behind Samsung’s decision to push back the battery and charging improvements to the 2026 flagship.
