If you are a fan of the Apple iPhones, this news might excite you. Recently, rumour says the new iPhone 16 Pro could feature a 20% brighter display. That said, what should you know about it?
According to a Weibo leaker named Setsuna Digital, the display brightness of the iPhone 16 Pro maybe 20% higher than that of the previous generation. In a recent blog post, the Weibo user claimed that the typical SDR brightness of the iPhone 16 Pro will be as high as 1,200 nits, a 20% improvement over the current model, but the peak HDR brightness will remain unchanged at 1,600 nits.
In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro claims that the brightness is significantly improved compared to the previous generation, with HDR brightness up to 400 nits higher. However, since the launch of the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021, the typical SDR brightness of the iPhone has remained at 1,000 nits. The iPhone's typical SDR is what's used in most situations, so a 20% increase in standard brightness would be a significant upgrade.
Moreover, Setsuna Digital's Apple rumours have mixed accuracy, but also provide some surprisingly accurate information. For example, the yellow iPhone 14 in 2023, frosted back glass for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, minor updates to Apple Watch Series 9, and Spatial video capture on the iPhone 15 Pro. The site also predicted landscape front-facing cameras on the new iPad Air and iPad Pro, and new nano-texture display options on the iPad Pro.
Furthermore, the iPhone 16 series is expected to be launched in the fall as usual, with the Pro model equipped with a larger display, a new"Capture" button and an A18 chip. We have yet to confirm other details or the Malaysia release date for the device. So, we should wait for further confirmation from Apple.
