IPOH: About one tonne of durians has been distributed to frontliners in Ipoh as a gesture of thanks.

Perak plantation, agriculture and food industry committee chairman Razman Zakaria said the durians were brought in from Larut.

“We bought the durians from these traders and distributed them to frontliners to thank them for their efforts in fighting the Covid-19 virus,” he said after handing over a batch of durians to frontliners at Stadium Indera Mulia vaccination centre on Monday .Razman Zakaria distributed the durians to the frontliners for their contribution.

“For now, we are giving it to the frontliners in Ipoh. We have about 250 and 260 frontliners working in the city, so they will get three to four durians each,” he said, adding that they distributed the fruit at several roadblocks in the city, including Jelapang and Simpang Pulai.
