bangkok Thailand menarik diri daripada beraksi di Piala Thomas dan Uber selepas bekas juara dunia, Ratchanok Intanon dan barisan pemain lain berasa bimbang terhadap penularan pandemik Covid-19.

Taiwan yang dibarisi pemain perseorangan wanita nombor satu dunia Tai Tzu-Ying serta Australia turut menarik diri daripada kejohanan itu yang akan berlangsung di Denmark, Oktober depan, kata Persekutuan Badminton Dunia .

BWF dalam satu kenyataan berkata, Thailand memberi alasan keputusan menarik diri atas sebab khas berkaitan dengan Covid-19 selain kecederaan membabitkan pemain utama. "Walaupun beberapa langkah dan prosedur dikenakan oleh Denmark, tetapi beberapa pemain menarik diri kerana mereka bimbang dengan penularan wabak itu," katanya.
