Tengku Adnan handed over more than RM1m to assist BN machinery in Sungai Besar, Kuala Kangsar by-elections, court told

“Besides the RM1,007,600, Datuk Seri also gave me RM40,000 for my personal expenses as the coordinator for the two by-elections. “In Sungai Besar, there were 600 volunteers involved at 30 district polling centres and in Kuala Kangsar, there were 520 volunteers involving 26 PDMs,” he added. Tengku Adnan was charged in his capacity as a public servant, namely, the Federal Territories Minister then, to having accepted for himself RM2 million from businessman, Tan Sri Chai Kin Kong who is also director of Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd via a Hong Leong Islamic Bank cheque belonging to AKSB which was later deposited into the CIMB Bank account of Tadmansori Holdings Sdn Bhd in which he had an interest, when it was known that Aset Kayamas had connection with his official duties.
