reached out to several players from casuals to pros to coaches. The answers, unsurprisingly, are varied.Casual online player I AM OP reacted to Fitt3dcap’s tweet, saying he neveris anti-beginner. To him, you can “just play casually and enjoy the game” if you don’t have time to masterhis first fighting game, he also called it “easy to get into” because of the slower, more readable animations and one-buttons auto-combos.in its current state doesn’t need to be easier,” OP said.
“There are [a] lot of characters that are beginner friendly like Leroy, Claudio, Katarina to name a few. Both in terms of gameplay and execution. But the game should have some sort of single-player mission mode which indirectly teaches some gameplay elements. Having blocks of text as a tutorial doesn’t help in my opinion.”OP admitted that the game—and any fighter—can be anti-beginner when you “stop finding people around your skill level.
Virtua Fighter is better... Bring that back
Fighting games need new players but the core fan base is what will keep the game afloat. Devs shouldn't dumb it down for 'potential' fans. Use the tutorial and training modes to, as the kids say, Get Gud.
Street fighter is good for both biginers and experts Tekken has become to over convoluted with it's needlessly hyper complex controls
It should revert to the simple controls in the ps1 games then it'd be for any skill lvl
